India’s last palace, and often voted the world’s most beautiful hotel, Umaid Bhavan is a majestic time machine. Its four public spaces live within martial, heroic architecture: hunting trophies, ancient arms, exceptional acoustics. For each, we composed a distinct atmosphere, measured against the excellence of the Palace’s first musician, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan Saheb (1922–2009), and his vast international legacy.
